I have always dreamed to become a doctor, to serve people and to serve humanity. Improving the lives and health of others or helping them in a significant way, has always been my passion. Which field other than being a Medicos could have solved this purpose? Medicine has always fascinated me, the depth of the physics’ concepts, the facts behind biochemical reactions and learning about human anatomy and physiology have always been my fascination. What even motivates me further to choose Medicine as a subject is the fact that it is vast and there is never a dull moment learning about the human life. It makes you interact with people from all walks of life and all sects, thereby enriches your human experience and improves socialization. It thus, enriches your human relationships and gives the skills to deal with them. Besides these, other motivational factors for me for going to a Medical School are the job stability, high compensation and get the honor and respect by other human beings that I have always been yearning to get.
Since childhood, I have always been undermined of my capabilities by my parents as my siblings have so far been faring well academically more than me. This feeling of being subdued has further empowered me to show what my capabilities are, and what I can do. In the early years of my school life, though I was a bright student, the family pressure, the comparisons made with my siblings by my parents has ignited the feeling in me that I have to fight back and prove my mettle to my family and to the world out there.
Career-wise also, the field of Medicine is an ever-prospering field as there is a need of more doctors in the ever-demanding and stressful environment. There has always been a dearth of doctors, for which, the Medical Schools are also willing to take up the budding youngsters, who are committed to bringing change in the lives of others. Even WHO (2006) also reported shortage of about 4 million doctors, and nurses worldwide. The World Health Organization prescribed a doctor-population ration of 1:1000, but the fact is that it is way lesser than the required numbers (WHO, 2006). Be it the physical health or mental and emotional well-being, doctors are required in all the arena of Medicine. Thus, being a Medicos is an ever-flourishing career.
Another reason for choosing a Medical School is the affordability of acquiring knowledge in the Medical Schools, besides the ever-rising demand of the doctors the world over. Earlier, people would travel to the European countries to get their MBBS done from Medical Schools. However, the scenario has now changed as many countries let the students pursue MBBS at highly affordable rates. So, I have ample reasons to get into the MBBS course at …..(School’s name)……
Concluding, getting into an esteemed Medical School like ….(Medical school’s name)… has always been my passion, my dream and to achieve my dream, I want to pursue MBBS from a school like yours. I am sure that as a go-getter, I will fly high as a Medical Doctor.
